Acoustic Suspension: a sound installation by Densil Cabrera

Acoustic Suspension consisted of two stainless steel objects, each about 4m tall, suspended in a large atrium by a single wire.

In a manner similar to a tin-can telephone, vibrations were sent down the suspension wires, becoming audible when they resonated in the objects.

Pre-recorded sound was prepared based on the resonant frequencies of the objects.

Acoustic Suspension was temporarily installed in the atrium of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation's Ultimo Centre in Sydney in 1995.
